Charles Fights Surrey’s Plans to Shut Our Dump
Charles Lister and Warlingham Liberal Democrats are leading the fight again to save the Dump in Bond Road and have submitted petitions on line and on paper with over 500 signatures opposing the closure.
In 2017 the Tory Council proposed to make savings by closing a number of smaller recycling centres including Warlingham. Overwhelming opposition to this led by the Liberal Democrats meant they were saved, although opening hours were greatly reduced. Now the Tories once again want to close it, which will require Warlingham residents to go to the already heavily congested facility in Chaldon Road, Caterham. The closure will also lead to increased fly tipping.
