Neil Parker

neil parkerNeil Parker is standing for election in the Chaldon ward by-election for District CouncilNeil Parker has been a resident of Chaldon since 2010 where he lives with his wife and two children. He is passionate about social mobility and community.

Neil was the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Monmouth in the 2001 General Election.

His career started as a languages teacher, but he changed direction and qualified as a chartered accountant with the National Audit Office, Parliament’s financial watchdog. He finished his financial career as Head of Internal Audit for a suite of NHS trusts around South London, providing advice to these organisations’ boards.

Neil now works at Caterham School as Head of Spanish and Italian. Seven years ago he helped set up of the London Academy of Excellence, a new free school in Newham, providing assistance in the establishment of the languages department. He continues to teach there one day a week.
