charles SMCharles has lived in Warlingham since the mid-1980s. He was elected to Warlingham Parish Council in August 2017 and is a member of the planning committee. He is also on the Warlingham Remembrance Day committee and is a Blanchman’s Farm volunteer.

He is a self-employed trainer specialising in policy making, communication, and negotiating skills. In his earlier career, he helped shape many areas of government health policy including blood safety and regulation of the fertility sector.

He helped organise a petition against the closure of Bond Road tip both in 2017 and again recently. He is also investigating whether a right of way can be established on Kennel Farm field.

Charles is on the board of Age UK Sutton and Kent-based children’s charity, the Caldecott Foundation. He received an OBE in 2003 for his work on ensuring a safe, secure supply of blood for the NHS.
