Richard Fowler has lived in Bletchingley for 30 years. He is chairman of Bletchingley Conservation & Historical Society which is close to his heart. Richard is a churchwarden and member of the church choir in his free time.
Professionally, Richard is a retired Chartered Building Services Engineer. He says, “I think my professional experience will help me as a councillor because It helped me to communicate with people and understand their needs and also be aware of environmental responsibility."
He thinks one of the most important issues in Bletchingley & Nutfield is protecting the character of the village and, concerned about the impact of traffic, is committed to working with local people to find a solution. More widely Richard will be campaigning hard to develop Council-owned and affordable homes for local people.
He says “I want to be a councillor because I want to help my community. I believe the group of local Lib Dem councilors work well together, showing commitment to their residents and the local area and standing up for the services they need.”
