Local Plan: 3 Lib Dem Lines in the Sand
This autumn the District Council will announce more details regarding the Local Plan. Your Local Lib Dem team has three Lines in the Sand:
|1||No more development without investment in infrastructure|
|This means it is not enough just to clean out the drains and maintain the sewers, which is what SCC and Thames Water have done. We need investment so that the sewage and drainage infrastructure fit for the fifties and sixties is upgraded for the needs of today with all the huge developments in Caterham.
We need more school places on the Hill.
We need investment in local health services.
We need investment in proper parking facilities.
No more building on green spaces
|We MUST keep our current parks and green spaces free, whether they are in the Green Belt or not. We urge TDC to remove them from consideration in the Local Plan. The Hambledon Park Open Space is owned by TDC. It could remove it from any threat tomorrow.|
|3||No more Density.|
The average number of houses per Hectare in Tandridge is 3 dwellings per hectare. In Portley is 37 dwellings! The Green Belt is not an excuse to dump all development in Caterham. Enough is enough!
