alunLib Dem Councillor Alun Jones said, “Tandridge is working with other agencies, however, progress is slow.” Local Lib Dems proposed an amendment successfully because flooding falls through the cracks of the committee system, and a review at a local level must happen.

Whilst most committees cover specific issues, flooding and the impact it has and the plans required to mitigate the risk always seem to be skimmed over.

Dealing with this issue is one of the Councils key priorities and as such the Council must review progress and agree future actions. The Oxted Residents’ Group supported the addition to the work plan and acknowledged the ongoing performance issues at Surrey County Council.
