simonA Liberal Democrat motion at Tandridge District Council may finally see the District and County Councils taking seriously the parking issues that cause so many problems in Warlingham and other parts of the District. The motion, which was supported by the Council, called for negotiations with Transport for London and other transport operators to provide resources to build extra off road parking near commuter stations.

In addition Tandridge officers will review current on street parking restrictions and enforcement and the use of the Council’s own land for parking. When the subjectwas debated at Council on 21 July, Cllr Simon Morrow, Chair of Warlingham Parish Council, urged Tandridge to include consultation with parishes within the Review, and cited the problems of antisocial parking on Warlingham Green and outside local schools, which are currently poorly enforced against by wardens provided by Reigate & Banstead Council.
He stated that more warden time is needed in Warlingham and that the Parish is willing to help resource this, but
to date had been unable to establish a satisfactory dialogue with Reigate & Banstead
