T007 smhe Liberal Democrats are pleased to announce that Jeffrey Gray will be contesting the Whyteleafe seat in the upcoming Tandridge District Council elections.

Jeffrey previously held the seat until 2010 when he stepped down from the Council and moved away to Kent. As his work commitments changed, he grabbed the opportunity to move back to the area last year.

Jeffrey says “It’s been great to be back in Whyteleafe after a few years away. In my professional life I was a full time teacher for 22 years. Nowadays, I combine teaching music and professional music making with music examining. It’s a wonderful flexible lifestyle that gives me the time and scope to be involved in the local community and to put myself forward to represent Whyteleafe on the District Council.”

“I’ve really enjoyed meeting so many people on their doorsteps over the last few weeks. I’ve met people who love Whyteleafe, but many who are angry that things are not run as they think they should be. Amongst other things, they tell me how shocked they are at Conservative Councillors spending almost £90,000 more than they did two years ago on publicity and press releases whilst cutting street cleaning and the desperately poor parking enforcement we suffer from. Things need to change!”

Jeffrey will be standing against the Conservative incumbent.
